About Us:

The Wolf Mountain Nature Center

Dedicated to the spirit of the wolf, past, present, and future.

Our Mission:

  • To observe wolf behaviors and present objective educational programs about wolves to a diverse audience

  • To dispell the centuries old negative images and myths about wolves.

  • To foster appreciation and understanding of the intrinsic value of wolves and the natural environment and their relationship with natural systems.

Description of Objective Goals :

  • To conduct on-site educational programs, conferences and public forums about timely wolf-related issues, wolf biology, behavior, communication and social structure.

  • To encourage and foster an understanding and awareness of wolf history and the role in which wolves contribute to enhancing the ecosystem by helping to maintain balance.

  • To provide a place where observation of natural behavior is possible.  At the Wolf Mountain Nature Center, wolves can interact very much as they normally do in the wild, enjoying a quality of life which promotes physical and psychological health.

  • To research ways to reduce predation by wolves on domestic livestock.

  • To promote and support the well being of wolves in the wild.

  • To improve the lives of captive wolves through well designed enclosures, enrichment techniques and socialization programs designed to eliminate stress and enhance the life of captive wolves.  To exhibit a model design for zoos and wildlife parks.

  • To educate people who may already have wolves or wolf-dog hybrids about proper management and fencing.
